Decals
To represent Radio Physics Division, CSIRO Avro Anson 1, decals will need to be home-made unless a local manufacturer is prepared to do limited runs in each scale.
Kit Modifications
As stated in the Kits Section, ‘bulged’ cowlings of the kits need to be replaced with ‘smooth’ versions to accurately represent VH-WMA in her CSIRO guise.
The cabin interior needs to be modified to represent the silver iodide control consoles.
The wingtip silver iodide dispensers will need to be scratch-built. Note that there were two styles of dispensers employed during the cloud seeding operations (refer supporting images).
Colours and Markings
Exterior (1):
Fuselage Roof (down to the base of the windows) – White
Fin and Rudder – White with horizontal Black stripes top and bottom of the registration letters
CSIRO Logo – Black letters on a White background
Lower fuselage, wings and horizontal tailplane – Aluminium Dope
Fuselage ‘Cheat Lines’ – Dark Blue (this could be something like Roundel Blue or a paler shade, Ensign Blue
“Radio Physics Division” lettering – Black
Anti-glare Panel – Black with a thin Blue line inboard of the base of the panel Cowlings – Black tapering aft with a thin Blue line inboard of the outer edges
DF Loop Housing - Black
Aerial - mostly White with a Black base but appears dark in a least one photo
VH-WMA Registration:
Wings – Black
Fin and Rudder – Black
Interior
The interior appears to be standard Interior Green
